For a long service life.

emco clean-off mats are robust and durable. Cleaning and care are also quick and easy! Most emco clean-off mats are designed so that the majority of the dirt falls through the gaps into the mat well.

Nevertheless: Regular care and cleaning improves the cleaning performance and prolongs the service life of your emco clean-off mat. emco goes even further in simplifying the cleaning of your entrance mat!

In the case of light soiling, clean the mat with a vacuum cleaner set to strong suction, depending on the amount of use. We recommend daily cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, In the case of medium soiling, roll up the mat and also clean the mat and the mat well with a broom after rolling up. If you have large mat system that are also extremely heavy, it is recommended to roll the mat up from one side up to the middle and clean. Then roll up the other side to the middle and clean. We recommend this is done weekly, with the mat well also being cleaned. In the case of heavy soiling, remove the whole mat from the mat well and clean the top with a pressure washer (distance at least 30cm) in a suitable place. The water temperature should not be more than 60°C. After a suitable drying time (depending on the weather), replace the mat that has been raised. We recommend cleaning with a pressure washer one a month.

Entrance mats with textile inserts, such as ribbed carpet, Care, Conform, Maximus, Innova or Outdoor can be cleaned easily with a vacuum cleaner or pressure washer. See Cleaning entrance mats in general. The following tips will help to make cleaning the insert even more effective.

  1. Use a brush vacuum cleaner! A powerful brush vacuum cleaner should be used for entrance mats with textile inserts. Vacuum cleaners with one or two brush rolls remove the dirt right down to the substrate material. At the same time, the brushes life the insert upright again and keep it “open” to new dirt.
  2. The right cleaning products! Use a neutral cleaning product*. Never use solvents based on chlorinated hydrocarbons! In the case of heavy soiling, a cleaning product can be applied to the mat with the pressure washer prior to cleaning and carefully worked in with a brush. The cleaning product can also be added to the pressure washer water. Please rinse with clear water afterwards.
  3. Remove stains! Treat stains as early as possible as some substances can cause permanent damage to fibres and inks. How quickly you act will determine how successfully the mat can be cleaned. Nearly 80% of all fresh stains can be removed with clean water. Sponge off and absorb liquids with a towel (or something similar). Concentrated, dried-in substances such as chewing gum must be loosened (e.g. with a scraper) and brushed out. Water-soluble stains should be remoistened with a little water and sponged off. Please note that stains must be sponged off and not rubbed in. Always work from the outer edges inwards to avoid making the stains bigger. Repeat this process if necessary. If you are not able to remove stubborn stains using this method, contact us for recommendations of suitable products.

Entrance mats with brushes can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or a pressure washer. See Cleaning entrance mats in general. The following tips will help to make cleaning even more effective.

  1. Without a brush vacuum cleaner! Brush vacuum cleaners on a brush insert generate friction that blocks the vacuum cleaner’s roller. Therefore, don’t use a brush vacuum cleaner and use a vacuum cleaner without a rotating roller.
  2. Scrubbing brush! Especially stubborn, fixed dirt can be brushed out with a scrubbing brush. To do this, brush the dirt out of the entrance mat aluminium profile in an upwards direction.

Entrance mat systems that exceed a defined total weight or a certain profile length are supplied in sections.
The following criteria apply to this:

Maximum section weights
Overall height: 12mm 25 kg
Overall height: above 17mm 30 kg

In addition, there is a maximum section depth of 2,000mm for all entrance mats.

For an entrance mat system in several pieces, the sections are arranged in the mat well on the basis of the position numbers on the back of the mat. They are directly after the order number and contain information on the section number and the total number of sections. Abbildung XX, which also describes the laying of the mat sections, illustrates this. Arrangement of the entrance mat system starts at the bottom left and ends at the top right.

In the case of manufacture on the basis of drawings, this requirement for positioning the stickers and end rolls does not necessarily apply!
