Our entrance mats are available in heights of 12mm, 17mm and 22mm. Additionally, there is an extremely resilient 42mm version.
The most frequently used height is 22mm. Not only is this one more resilient than the 12 and 17mm heights but its construction also makes it easier to change and repair. Another advantage is its dirt-uptake capacity! Its 22mm height means it can hold the most dirt in the spaces.
Yes. Our Original entrance mats come with a 4-year guarantee. And our Premium entrance mats come with a 5-year guarantee. Please refer to our warranty conditions for more detailed information.

The factory standard divisions given indicate mutually dependent values for the points at which an entrance mat is divided in width and/or depth. Currently, an entrance mat is divided at more than 30kg, or when the depth exceeds 2000mm, or the profile length exceeds 3000mm. Where possible, mats are first divided across their depth, as these divisions are almost invisible later. If this is not possible, the width is divided equally.
Dividing the entrance mat reduces section weights and makes the product more manageable. This lessens the workload during production, installation and regular cleaning.
In 2020,32 percent of all sick days in Germany were due to muscle, skeletal or connective tissue illnesses. In the skilled trades, it was 35.4%; in the construction and finishing trades, it reached 42.3%. Employees in the construction sector were not sick more often, but they were sick significantly longer than the average (IKK Classic 2020 absence analysis).
Please also take into account that mat installations that are larger than our factory standard can lead not only to disease burdens (heavy pieces to be lift up during maintainance) but also to additional costs:
Transport costs may increase
For weight reasons, cleaning may require 2 people
Repairs or maintenance measures are more complex.
Yes. You can specify a division as per customer’s requirements. We endeavour to respect and implement every wish. We hope you understand that we have to pass on the cost of using of more personnel for assembly, together with additional costs for the forwarding agency for possible special transports – we try to do this as moderately as possible.
No. If the mat needs to be divided, the situation in the entranceway should be carefully considered. Depending on on-site foot-traffic planning, it may or may not be right to divide the mat in the centre. Please don't hesitate to contact us for a tailored design! Here are a few examples:

A mat well is the cut-out/recess/cavity in the floor into which an entrance mat is inserted. A well-prepared mat well is key to the product’s durability. An uneven (not level) mat well can cause the entrance mat to lift and bend, making it an accident risk.
emco offers a comprehensive range of services for entrance mats and swimming pool grates.
Yes. Our technical customer service is set up to provide its services on site.
Fine adjustment is the precise adaptation of the entrance mat to the frame. In this process, the mat is compressed, extended, sanded or sawn in parts or in its entirety so that the product can be optimally embedded in the frame. After the fine adjustment, the mat is fitted into the frame.
By minor repairs we mean repairs that can be carried out on site on 10% of the profiles, without the use of spare parts. This includes, for example, fixing inserts, grinding profiles or straightening bent profiles (according to feasibility).
An enormous amount of water pressure acts on the pool’s overflow channel, where our overflow channels are installed. It is understandable that small changes, in the range of millimetres, can occur. These small changes in the channel, together with external influences such as material length expansion, can lead to small gaps or protrusions at joints, connections and ends. Even after many years of use, our technical customer service can close the gaps on site or compress the emco overflow channel.
It sometimes happens that assignments were scheduled in consultation with the designated contact person on site, but the on-site preparations were not completed. We have to move on without carrying out our service. This is annoying for everyone involved, and we must work together to prevent it. Should an empty run still occur, we will charge the cost price.
Depending on the entrance mat insert, the product may be slightly higher than the specified 12, 17 or 22mm. This is correct, so that the insert protrudes slightly from the frame and can do its job. In rare cases, it may cause the door to drag a little over the insert. Please try to adjust the door minimally so that the door and mat can function together smoothly. If the door cannot be adjusted any further, please contact us to assess the overall situation on site and find a solution together.
