Innovative and sustainable – from the very first step
Future-oriented design meets innovation

Clariant is a global leader in specialty chemicals, offering innovative and sustainable solutions. With customized products, Clariant is driving the transformation of numerous industries.

The design of the Clariant Innovation Center is characterized by the key concepts of innovation, movement, energy, emotion, verve and courage – and puts these concepts into practice in both form and function. The building is cube-shaped, white, transparent and has clear contours. It thus clearly reflects Clariant’s corporate philosophy. The basic structure consists of three interlocking cubes. These provide a communicative meeting point for the various units of the company, whose employees and hierarchical levels have been deliberately mixed.

Following a competition in which eleven leading architects took part, Hentrich-Petschnigg & Partner was selected in 2011 to design the Clariant Innovation Center. The complex in Frankfurt’s Höchst Industrial Park, with an area of 36,000 square meters, offers space for 500 employees.

In order to maintain the bright and open design of the building’s interior in the long term despite this daily footfall, emco Bau was commissioned to retrofit a customized entrance matting system. The requirements were explored together with the facility management during the planning phase. This meant that the optimum system could be installed in time for the winter, which, in addition to cleanliness, takes account of the high daily loads through the choice of profiles.

“The advice, planning and support provided by emco Bau was very professional throughout the entire project. The replacement of the matting systems also went completely smoothly and as agreed on the agreed dates within the agreed time frame.”
Jörg Schäfer, Facility Manager Innovation Center Germany
